GOLDEN FORK PROJECT, MALI
Mali is a relatively under-explored country. The survey area was situated to the south west of the Nara-Trough, where the only data existing was a preliminary gravity-survey.
The environmental conditions for team and cars were very hard, the temperature between 12:00 and 15:00h reached 40 to 48 Celsius degrees, the paths to reach the measurement points were full of rocks; many times there were no road, the cars run in the middle of the bushes and over the savanna or on farm lands full of bumpers caused by the plough.
Despite these operative difficulties, the survey was successfully completed, the raw data were processed and the results have highlighted the locations of major interest.
